General Guidelines for the Composition & Submission of a Golf Equipment Buying Guide:
- Guides can be composed in standard sentence/paragraph structure or, depending on the content and the author's wishes, be written in more of an outline/bulleted format. Guides should be no less than 500 words in length.
- Authors of guides are strongly encouraged to stay on-topic and be as descriptive and detailed as possible in their explanations. E.g. if you are writing about the buying process for a particular club type, explain the components & design of that club type, explain the variations of that club type, and explain what different types of golfers should look for when selecting that club type. Compose the guide as is you were speaking to the average beginning golfer.
- While the majority of the content should be text; graphs, charts, pictures, etc. are certainly encouraged to make the content more interesting and meaningful to the reader.
- Guides should be created in MS Word, Outlook/email, or in an HTML format (if the author has the ability to do so) and submitted via email to Adam Bradshaw (Program Director) at abradshaw@pgatradein.com.
- Guides will be reviewed for content, proper spelling & grammar, and if deemed acceptable, they will be published to the PGA.com Value Guide along with the PGA Professional's name. Buying guides will also be published to PGALinks.com and PlayGolfAmerica.com along with the PGA Professional’s name.
